Incessant rain for the entire week, prior to this event had the organisers and hosts holding thumbs for clear skies and sunshine in order to ensure that the treasured Bavarian beauties would be brought out to stretch their legs for the day.
Waking up at 04H30 on Sunday morning, to the sound of twittering birds instead of pelting rain was a good sign and arriving at Johan’s Auto, which was the starting point for the day, to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, cuppuchino and a selection of teas and fresh muffins was wonderful.
Johan’s Auto and Reelin Bearings were our hosts and sponsors and after the morning refreshments and receiving lovely gifts and handouts, we made our way to La Come Lifestyle Estate in the form of a high speed train consisting of a 325is, Z4 M coupe, V8 M3, 318i Cabriolet, M4 and E46 M3 and later joined by a more distinguished member in his 740i.
Arriving at the Clubhouse we entered Lago Puccini restaurant with its’ magnificent view over the lake and bird sanctuary, within this spectacular estate.
A wholesome buffet breakfast was enjoyed while new and existing members chatted like old friends while the children romped in the play area, water feature and were enthralled by the abundance of fish and bird life in and around the lake.
A number of people relaxed long after breakfast and stayed for lunch, which was once again top class and delicious.
After the last guest departed I was once again reminded of the close bond that exists among our Club Members and would like to invite everyone reading this to join us next time but in the meantime, take note that the next event will be Zwartkops go-karting on 3 March.
Hope to see you there and thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday.
