The day started early at Zwartkops Raceway, with Club members arriving from 06H30 to assist with set-up at the BMW Car Club stand. Freshly brewed coffee and muffins were passed around and enjoyed by all as more members and friends started arriving for yet another fun day together. This was followed by biltong, snacks and drinks which were shared by all.
An all time first for the club at this event, was the second task for the Club’s erection Department: Setting up the Club gazebo’s under which the regalia was proudly displayed and the ”shop” was organized in record time with the assistance of many a helping hand. This proved to be a huge success with passing visitors and those stopping to admire the special beauties brought out by their proud owners for the day.
The regalia proved to be very popular and resulted in remarkable sales throughout the day. It was especially nice to see many past and future BMW drivers from all walks of life selecting that special item of clothing which reminded them why it is still their brand of choice.
The cars were placed on display, covering the entire frontage of our allocated stand area. BMW admirers were drawn to these magnificent cars like bees to a honey-pot. As usual, the younger club members had a ball together while exploring, eating and just doing exactly what kids do so well, having fun and laughing all day.
We wrapped up the day in the mid-afternoon. Based on the feedback and comments from everyone who attended, it can only be said that it was one of the very best Cars-in-the-Park events ever. Thank you to each and everyone who made this such a memorable event.
We can hardly wait to see you all at next year’s Cars-in-the-park, which promises to be even better.
Watch out for our next event which is the Tarlton Autocross day on Sunday, 27th August.
