Angela’s Picnic is an annual event, which has been staged for more than 30 years at Delta Park, JHB
It attracts collectors, enthusiasts and appreciative public who share a passion where special cars can be seen in one place. Collections are donated to Hospice.
The BMW Car Club Gauteng, once again came out in full force with an amazing selection of cars: E30 3.5Alpina, E46 M3, F30 340i, Z4 M Coupe, 2002, 635, E28 M5, 3.0 CSL, E92 M3 and E30 333i, to name but a few of the beauties brought out by their proud owners for a day in the park.
It provided enough eye-candy for many a BMW admirer to spend a fair amount of time amongst the cars and happily chatting to the Club members who even invited a few for a cup of freshly brewed coffee and muffins in the morning.
The wives and kids of the Club settled comfortably under the trees and gazebos while the men mingled and shared memories, stories and compared “performance” with one another.
The friendly atmosphere and the usual banter continued for the day while Craig Withers provided delicious bacon butties for breakfast and later, for lunch, the best fillet- and prego rolls with a red hot peri-peri sauce for the brave. This was all washed down with a cool glass of sangria and enough ice to sink the Titanic.
The kids made use of the “mountain” of ice cubes provided by Robin Sadler to engage in impromptu ice-warfare, which was initiated by Brett Michaelis.
The day ended happily with slaps on the back and hugs all round.
