Entry and registration is now open for our first Zwartkops track day of 2019!
Here is the important information, PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BEFORE DOING YOUR REGISTRATION.
Securing your entry
ONLY PAYMENT SECURES YOUR ENTRY. Entries will close strictly on Wednesday 8 May or when the event is full, whichever occurs first. Please do your entry and payment as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Time Trial Classes
The time trial classes we used for the last two years have been reviewed. We have created classes according to the majority of what has been entered in the last two years, and not on possible entries. We have had many classes far too empty and some classes where the differentiation between cars is too vast. We hope that these new classes will remedy this.
We have also made them more appropriate for Race Series drivers that want to enter their cars in the Time Trial Championship as well. If for any reason your car does not comply completely fall within the new classes, the organizer reserves the right to place you in the applicable class. Please take note of the attached Time Trial Classes document for further info. If you are not sure of anything, please feel free to contact Bernard De Gouveia.
Time Trial Championship
We will continue to run a season championship. Points are scored as follows at each event:
Where only two cars are entered into a class:
At the end of the season, bonus points will be awarded per event entered. This means we will not have a repeat of 2016 where someone could enter only 1 event and win a class championship. We hope that this change along with the new classes will bring about a more fair and realistic Time Trial Championship result.
We have made adjustments to the template program we use. These will naturally vary on the number of groups we use for each event and the time constraints we have at each circuit. What we used to call sessions (the way cars were grouped on track) are now called groups. Sessions are now the block of time on circuit so that we ensure we always have at least 6 sessions for each group, excluding the open session. The number of groups used will be determined by the number of entries received and the on-track capacity for each circuit. Please fill in your times on the registration sheet so we can allocate your group correctly.
Mandatory clothing for time trials is a helmet, driving gloves, long cotton shirt, long pants and closed shoes. It is highly recommended to carry a fire extinguisher in your car.
You are welcome to take passengers on track. They will need to complete a passenger indemnity and pay R50 at the BMW Car Club desk on the day.
MSA licences are required for this event. If you do not have a licence, you may apply for a day licence but this needs to be booked and paid for before the event. Contact the organizer for information.
Overtaking in corners in all sessions is strictly forbidden. Drivers who transgress will be given a black flag and sent home. More about this will be explained in the drivers briefing.
If another driver wishes to drive your vehicle in the time trial or practice sessions, that driver must be registered on the day. You must either remove your transponder or do two entries for the day with two different transponders.
Bridgestone Hot Laps
The fee is R150 for 2 laps with a professional driver and will run from the first time trial sessions in session 2, and 3.
