The big one is fast approaching! As promised, and as in 2016, entries were opened first to those who have supported previous events on the calendar. We are now happy to announce that entries are now open to all members. Please note that only payment will secure your entry! If you have entered but not paid, you will only be placed on the waiting list.
Here is the important information, PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BEFORE DOING YOUR REGISTRATION.
All entries and arrangements will be final on Friday 20 October.
The time trial sessions will run as they have done in 2017. Cars will be split into 3 groups according to lap time/performance. We are limiting the event to 85 time trial cars and 35 race series entries to lower the amount of cars on track and so that every competitor can park inside the pits.
We will run an exhibition race in a Handicap Pursuit format as we did at Phakisa. Best lap times from the first two sessions will be taken to determine a grid. The slowest starts first, the fastest last. Start intervals are determined by the lap time difference to the slowest car over 8 laps. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3. This is applicable to BMW race prepared vehicles only, from any motorsport category. Please note a full race suit is mandatory to participate.
Pits will be allocated to groups on track to ease the traffic flow onto the circuit. Wherever possible, we will accommodate teams and crews that normally stay together, however you will need to notify the organizer in advance of these requests. We would also like to keep support vehicles to an absolute minimum but note NO support vehicles will be allowed inside the pits.
Mandatory clothing for time trials is a helmet, driving gloves, long cotton shirt, long pants and closed shoes. It is highly recommended to carry a fire extinguisher in your car.
You are welcome to take passengers on track. They will need to complete a passenger indemnity and pay R50 at the BMW Car Club desk on the day.
MSA licences are required for this event. If you do not have a licence, you may apply for a day licence but this needs to be booked and paid for BEFORE 20 October 2017. Contact the organizer for information. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE OVER 50 YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A STRESS ECG WITH YOUR APPLICATION FOR EITHER A DAY OR ANNUAL LICENCE!
As per last year, no alcohol will be served at the venue.
Bridgestone Hot Laps
The fee is R200 for 2 laps with a professional driver and will run from the first time trial sessions in Group 2 and 3.
