Winter Wonderland

The Xmas in June this year in the Drakensberg was a great success. The Mont-Aux-Sources hotel was lovely and had the most beautiful views of the Amphitheatre. We had really good weather as well although a number of people opened the curtains each morning hoping to see some snow! But maybe next time. Everyone came out in their fanciest hats for Friday dinner where we were spoilt with a lovely buffet dinner. The Saturday gave everyone time to explore the area and go for a few walks in the mountains of the Royal Natal National Park. The water in the streams was so crystal clear and you could drink it straight out of the river! The Xmas dinner meant lots of presents and excited kids as Santa’s little helpers ran around finding people to dish out gifts to. It was a lovely evening filled with happiness and laughter. It was all over too soon when Sunday morning arrived and after another hearty breakfast we hit the road after a wonderful weekend in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa.
Splendid weekend away and so nice to see many “new faces”. A perfect opportunity to meet, greet and mingle with fellow-BMW folk. A special thank you to the staff at the hotel. They were most obliging in providing vegetarian options when requested and refilling the soup “cauldron” with mouthwatering soups and continously feeding us with 5 Star cuisine.
It was a wonderful venue and here’s hoping that we can repeat the festivities again, next year, same place, same time. A very happy Winter Christmas to everyone!
Was Great , thanks to everybody, the Hat evening was a good laugh and all participated with plenty of enthusiasm, you need to arrange a fancy dress party/dinner next, I think with the sporty crowd we have it will be a good event.
The venue was great, food was good but what made it most special for us was that everyone in the club was friendly, social and we could bring our family along to participate in the event. We will definitely be there next year!
Thanks to the committee for making this weekend so special, the venue, the food, the refreshments were all great, I hope we do it at the same venue next year again. A special thanks to Robin Sadler for entertaining everyone for hours in the bar and dining room, who needs a band, disco or a comedian when Robin is there to entertain us for two days.
Thank you for organizing such an amazing weekend, the accommodation, setting of hotel and surrounds superb and the food was unbelievable especially that Gammon for Christmas dinner (the best weekend away todate). A thumbs up to the committee for putting this together.
