A rather grey and rainy Sunday morning greeted us for the year end Breakfast run of 2014 which was hosted by ZF in Edenvale. In spite of the inclement weather we had more than 90 adults and 20 children on the day.
The team at ZF laid out a great spread of savoury and sweet treats for the arrival snacks. One club member commented that there was enough food there that he didn’t need to go on the breakfast run itself!
After welcome and introductions, the team at ZF gave a quick overview of their products which from a BMW perspective is essentially automatic and manual transmissions as well as steering boxes. They then gave us a whistle stop tour through their impressive 4000 square meter facility. What many club members didn’t know is that once their BMW is out of motorplan they are able to go directly to ZF for any repairs to their transmission and steering boxes.
Armed with the step by step directions, the vehicles hit the road (and at some stages the river) en route to Peaconwood near Hartbeespoort Dam where an impressive cold and hot selection of breakfasts awaited. The team at Peaconwood was able to handle the more than 100 people who descended on them all at once very well with queues that were not too long and they ensured that everyone got their fair share of breakfast. The atmosphere as always was great with friends catching up and stories being exchanged and before you know it the afternoon had arrived!
We look forward to you joining us at our first breakfast run of 2015 which will take place in February next year.
