What a way to end of our family based events for the year. What started of as a rather windy and chilly morning in Germiston, at our sponsors, South East Auto BMW, turned out to be a rather hot but enjoyable day. We were greeted with muffins, coffee and the smiling faces of the South East Auto team, upon our arrival and chatted about, the non BMWs in the parking lot and quickly moved onto the gorgeous M6 Coupe parked on the South East showroom floor, amongst other pieces from the BMW gallery. After a few introductions and short announcements we departed from the dealer around 9am, due south-west to banks of the mighty Vaal river.
After a rather relaxing cruise down to Vanderbijl Park, we crossed the Baddrift Bridge, which provided an awesome view of the Vaal River; we arrived at our destination, Stonehaven on Vaal. Greeted and welcomed by their staff, this venue goes out of their way and then some, to accommodate you and your guests. The informative signs guided us to the River Terraces, an open air seated venue with large tables and wonderful decor. While quenching our thirsts and discussing the legal speeds we maintained on our trip, we waited for breakfast.
The breakfast: From cold to hot; yoghurt, fruit, muffins, croissants, sausages, French toast, potatoes and eggs, to name but a few items, we can truly say that the drive was well worth it. It was really enjoyable and there was more than enough. Terrific, if I may say so. The smiles, the general jovial feel in the air and to see the handful of kids enjoying themselves in the play area makes the work all worth it.
Of course, none of this would be possible without help and support. We would like to thank our sponsors, South East Auto BMW, for their assistance and opening their dealership to us on a Sunday morning. Also to Stonehaven on Vaal for being an awesome venue, and lastly, to our members (and non-members) who join us, for drive, for the breakfast, for the club. Thank you.
